Brian E. Chapman, Ph.D.

A Little Bit About Myself

I am currently an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. I teach introductory biomedical informatics to Information Systems students and work with the Melbourne Medical School to create digitally and data savvy medical students. Prior to joining the University of Melbourne, I have held faculty positions at the University of Utah, University of California, San Diego, and the University of Pittsburgh.

I approach biomedical informatics with a bias towards improving the patient experience and empowering patients to become the team leader in managing their health. I also believe you can never have enough mathematics and that biomedical informatics needs to return to its mathematical roots.
