About
Brian E. Chapman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Data Science and Biostatistics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Health Economics, Systems and Policy. Both departments are within the O’Donnell School of Public Health.
His research spans medical image segmentation, natural language processing of clinical text, and using large language models to deliver reliable healthcare knowledge directly to patients. A survivor of multiple childhood cancers, he came to medical informatics not by accident but by conviction: the intellectual work had to matter to human lives.
